CAN I TETHER A YAMAHA 2400 WITH A 2000 YAMAHA IN ORDER TO GAIN WATTAGE, OR DO THE TWO YAMAHA GENERATORS NEED TO BE IDENTICAL.
DOUG MACKEY
from Texas
June 27, 2016
Answer
Thank you for your inquiry.
The 2400 Yamaha does not have parallel capabilities and cannot be connected to any other inverter. The EF2000i and all other models have to be paralleled to a identical unit.

can this unit run a few lights and heater in my rv tr.at night
Gloria Jernigan
from New Mexico
June 25, 2016
Answer
Thanks for your inquiry.
Generator sizing is based on the starting amperage of the equipment you plan on powering which will determine the size generator needed.
Proper sizing of the generator is based on 80% of the generators running capacity, so when a large load kicks in the unit has enough flexibility to handle it and still provide clean voltage output.
To calculate the wattage, the following formula will help convert starting amps to watts - Starting Amps x Volts = Watts
You will have to check with the manufacturer of the heater and TV to get the starting and running watts in order to know of this generator will be able to power it.You may have to manage the loads when using a portable generator.
