The imminent threat of hurricanes can make preparations complicated. From diminishing local supplies to delaying deliveries. We're here to help you! Below are tips to get you the items you need this hurricane season.

Shipping

Most generator shipments over 150 pounds are made using freight carriers and loaded on trailers. Smaller inverter-type generators under 150 pounds may ship using ground shipping and may be eligible for 2nd-Day and Next-Day Air.

Additionally, certain generators may even be stocked at one of our local distribution centers that will allow you to order the generator and pick it up the same day

Each storm brings its own challenges. Weather and road conditions change rapidly by the minute and we cannot guarantee delivery as a result of shipping challenges like mandatory evacuations, road closures, and container or driver shortages, etc. You will need to check with your shipping carrier for the most up-to-date information.

Identifying your shipping carrier is simple. Once your product has shipped, we will send you a shipping notification email listing the carrier and tracking info to make it easy for you to take delivery, or reach out directly to the carrier, should you have any questions.

Generator Availability
By the time you drive down to the hardware store, the shelves are bare, and you realize everyone else had the same plan.

When shopping for generators online, it's important to see what is in stock so it will ship quicker than if it ships directly from the manufacturer, or worse, is on backorder.

Luckily, you can filter your results to shop "In-Stock Only". That way, you will only see generators that are currently in-stock and ready to ship.

Delivery Delays
Home deliveries may be delayed depending on where you live. Hurricanes and the complications they bring can be notoriously unpredictable.

If you do happen to have power, you are lucky. However, power outages can be random, and we encourage everyone to have at least an emergency backup to protect themselves from an extended power outage. By placing your order NOW, your generator will eventually be delivered to your doorstep - even if it's a few days delayed or before stocks run out.

Pick Up at Local Freight Terminal
If you order a generator that ships by freight carrier and want to shave time off of the delivery, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND contacting the freight carrier to see if you can pick up your order at their local freight terminal.

Once your order is placed and shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number and the name of the freight carrier for your order.

Please Note: You must call the freight carrier to make arrangements for a pickup. Generators are not stocked at shipping terminals. All generators will ship from one of our warehouses before they arrive at the local freight terminal. You will need to bring a photo ID that matches the name on the order to receive your generator. Your order will not be released if it doesn't match.
