Product Q&A

Does the 6519 come complete with everything for installation (with exception of entry cable maybe)? It says it runs on both natural and lp gas. Does it need some sort of conversion kit or does it convert much like a gas range? Also, what is a 7 day exerciser? The local electrical supply just switched from generac to Kohler generators. Said they had poor service and generac did not have a service tech in this area (Monticello, Arkansas 71655). Thanks.

Answer
The Features for this unit say "Includes 8 Circuit Load Center Style Auto Transfer Switch (50A): All wiring must be provided by installer, (No Pre-Wired Whip)

It can be installed in either Natural Gas or Liquid Propane systems, but it's one or the other- not both. There are more details on the Spec Sheet PDF and in Section 5 of the Owner's Manual PDF available under theSpecs tab of the product page.. The unit arrives configured for Natural Gas; the Owner's Manual describes the process needed to convert it to use with LP vapor withdrawal systems.

Hi Mike, We installed the Generac 6519 at our house and have a question about the generator being that is tied into the propane line. If we decide to flip off the switch to the prone access line to turn off the generator if it is running or to keep it off for a few hours will it burn up any of the electrical components inside or in the electrical boxes or anything related? The installation engineer we used thought it would be fine. Just checking.

Answer
The fuel line should not be turned off if the generator is running and may cause damage to the unit. I would check with Generac direct at 888-436-3722 to see what they recommend.
