  1 Question
Q: I have a generac 7500 watt portable generator to power a hunting cabin running 3 small window units and a1/2 hp water pump running every thing fine with 25 foot cord can I get away with using a 75 ft cord to get generator further away from house to reduce noise
by Jon Janica from Texas on June 26, 2016

A: There should not be a problem going up to a 75 foot power cord. The loss will be minimal.

Now I'm Ready!
When I saw the power outages in NY and NJ after Sandy, I decided it was time to buy a generator and transfer switch. These storms that knock out power seem to be happening a lot more frequently, whether you believe in global warming or not so I'm going to be prepared. I did a lot of online research and decided on the Generac 7500E and the Reliance Controls 30 amp, 10 breaker transfer switch.

Very happy with both. I just finished hooking up the transfer switch today and it took about an... more

Generator Cord
Very sturdy cord. Left it outside in sub-zero weather to see how stiff it would become, not bad.

I run my generator from my detached garage to the house.

The real reason to buy this cord or anything from this store is the customer service.

They have the phone number to call about ANY question you have.
Pros: Durable, Reliable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive

Power Cord Pow Pow
I needed a power cord to run from my shed (the front of my shed) to my house. Looks like a well built cord. If I lose power I'll know if it works.

Homeowner
This is a great generator. I had to use it during the Sandy storm and it lived up to every bit of the Brigg & Stratton representation. It performed like a champion. I would definitely recommend this generator to any homeowner that may be considering purchasing one.

The 75 foot cord allows me to place the generator further away from he house for more safety. Great choice, and let me not forget that Electric Generator Direct provides great service when selecting your generator.
