Product QuestionsAnswered by Jared, the Generator Expert
Hi,
I have a Generac XG10000E and want to change the box where my hot tub supply was to accept the 50amp Generac. I have (2) #6 wires plus a #6 ground. Will that work? Also, which box and outlet would you recommend as well as a generator cord.
Thanks for your help,
Jim

Answer
Thank you for your inquiry to Electric Generators Direct!
The Generac 50-amp power inlet box, model 6347 is designed to accept 2 hot leads, a ground and a neutral. It is not recommended to use this product without all of these connections securely made. Based on the information that you have provided, it sounds as though additional wiring will be required. We recommend consulting a licensed electrician for assistance with this endeavor. Also, a good recommendation for equipment which will be compatible with your XG10000E would be the 6296, 50-amp power transfer system.
Generac 6347 - 50-Amp Power Inlet Box
Will above mate with L14-30R extension cord?
If not, pls. suggest another that will work well with #6 wiring to box..
Thanks,

Thank you for your inquiry!
The Generac 6347 will not be compatible with an L14-30 connection. That connection type is specific to 30 amp, 4-prong equipment. We would recommend the Generac 6346, 30 amp power inlet box as a good substitute. You will find this product by following the link below...
