What size wire should I use to connect the Gen-Tran 50-Amp Power Transfer System to my existing circuit box? I want to place the transfer box about 150 feet from the generator. I currently have a 7500 watt manual transfer bob and use a 5600 watt generator. I just purchased a 15000 watt generator from you for delivery today. I plan on using both the 30 AMP and 50 AMP plugs. Thanks

Answer
Bill, you got the right idea, but the wrong cord. The Generac 17500 watt portable generator has a special 50-amp plug with a straight blade. This kit has a twistlock instead.

You'll need to get this power transfer system instead:
