Great
This cord is great. Especially if you need to power up items that need 20 amps or better to get started up and running.
I had a recent power outage, and I could not run my furnace using a standard extension cord and the 20 amp outlet from my generator. It wouldn't put out enough juice to get by the initial power needed to run the furnace.
I used this cord set to power the furnace using the 30 amp connector, and it ran the furnace and my fridge just fine.

Great Generators
I bought 2 Generac 7500 watt generators with the electric start and the powermate cord. I bought one for my house and also one for my mothers house. I spent weeks after hurricane Irene calling all the big box stores asking when they will be getting new generators in. They could not give me an answer due to the high demand they were experiencing. The morning after the storm I went to the local big box store and there was a line of about 50 people waiting for the store to open. Then 2 patrol cars showed up and they brought the cops inside before opening the store so that the police would be able to control the crowd when they rolled out the few generators that they had left.
People had to take a number and wait. Apparently, the night before there was a near riot and panic in the store as people were fighting over the limited number of generators left on the shelves. I shopped around on the internet and was a bit hesitant to make such a big purchase sight unseen.
Generac had an excellent review as did Electric Generators.Com. I made a 10 minute phone call and spoke with the guy who has his picture on the website and asked him a half dozen questions. I had every question answered politely and professionally plus he educated me on what I needed to know as a first time generator buyer. Five days later, UPS dropped delivered the 2 generators to my garage, he helped me pick one up and put it in my SUV so that I could bring it to my mother's house.
The generator is all steel. No plastic junk. It is solid. The gas tank is all metal with a corrosive-free coating on the inside of the tank. The battery was already charged. Bolt on the wheels, bolt on the heavy - duty handle, fill it with gas and the oil that comes with it. 20 minutes later, one press of a button and it started right up.
A Honda generator at 7500 watts would probably cost about $5000.00. I paid $1024.00 for each generator including the tailgate lift charge - no tax here in NJ-. I can go back to the big orange box store and buy some ridgid insulation and build a dog house for this generator for under a $100.00 and it will be as quiet as a Honda.
I work as a police sergeant and I have already recommended this generator and EG.com to my fellow officers. No hassles and very simple reliable ordering and delivery. I am not a person easily impressed and I can be quite demanding as a consumer.
I give Generac and Electric Generators. com 5 gold stars. I can't recommend them enough. I love the feeling of the peace of mind that I now have if the power goes out next time, which for whatever reason seems to be getting more and more frequently.

Great Portable Generator Accessory
This is a high quality, heavy duty generator convenience cord. The 220 gen. output is divided into two 110 legs for four 110 outlets. This allows you to more evenly balance the loads on your generator thereby getting more capacity than is possible with multiple extension cords. A great product.

Excellent machine at a good price. Slow delivery even with priority service... mostly the fault of bad UPS delivery service.

Quality power cord, nothing like the picture
EGD Resonds: From time to time, manufacturers update/replace products without our knowledge. As of 12/29/10, the new image of the cord has been added and it is now displays the correct outlet configuration.
I guess the folks at this site are too busy to change the photo, the arrangement of the plugs is completely different from the picture. I do look to see if it says "Picture is representative, actual product may very" and it doesn't say that in it's description. I don't think I would have bought it if I had known that the 4 plugs were in a different arrangement. The power cord it's self is very high quality and worth the money (if that's what you want) and the shipping and packaging was first rate.

Great Product
This is what I have been looking for to run my portable AC unit and three other accessories without shortage of amp draw through this 30 amp cord. It will be used to supply emergency power during outages caused by hurricanes. Delivery was quick.

My Ordering Experience With Electric Generators Direct
After being unable to find a generator locally that I felt fit my needs, I decided to visit Electric Generators Direct website. There were several helpful videos that actually changed my mind as far as the size and the type of generator that I wanted to purchase.
Based on Electric Generators Direct's recommendation, I decided on the 7000 watt Briggs & Stratton.
The ordering process was very easy. I ordered on a Sunday and the generator was delivered the following Friday. The delivery truck came to the end of my driveway and the driver brought the unit right into my garage.
The set-up instructions were very simple and I had the generator running within a half hour.
Everything that Electric Generators Direct claimed in their website has been fulfilled. It was a much easier process than I had anticipated.

Nice Machine!
It was time to replace my 10 year old Generac 4000xl which had served me well through hurricanes and other outages. So, I moved up to this one.
I am very pleased with the whole experience. Delivery was prompt and courteous. It arrived completely undamaged.
Set up was easy (it is heavy, though), and it started right up. I love the electric start and the additional power. All the controls are straight forward.
I picked up the Powermate 30-Amp convenience Cord (4-Prong) for additional flexibility. It's not that I look forward to another storm, but I do look forward to putting it through a thorough test.
It is louder than my old generator, but it's much bigger and in my opinion the noise increase is reasonable. Again, I am very pleased.

Works well. I have a new propane-powered generator, one power failure, started generator out on my deck ran this cable through the window into the kitchen and was able to take care of lights, TV & refrigerator for 5 hours. Very easy to use.
EGD RESPONSE: If you have a wood deck, DON'T run your generator on top. They occasionally spark. The last thing that you need is a deck fire during a blackout.

IT IS QUIET!
There is no better place to purchase a generator. The web site is easy to navigate, the reviews and recommendations are trustworthy, and the shipping is timely.
We bought this as a replacement for our 14-year old Homelite generator with Briggs & Stratton engine. We loved our old generator using it with our RV on trips and really used it the last four years working at our property which has no electricity. This new one, the 30471, went together easily and started the first time we tried it. All of the controls & outlets are together on one side and easy to use. The covered outlets are wonderful with the snow that we have been having here. I do not know how we got along for so long without electric start and the wheels are a wonderful addition, as well.
Most of all, we are amazed and delighted that it is SO VERY QUIET! My husband wanted a Honda because they are so quiet and we looked at them. They have priced themselves out of our range and I cannot imagine that they are much more quiet than this one. The first words out of my husband's mouth when I kicked over the new Briggs & Stratton were "It is quieter than the Hondas that we use at work!!" I said "and it did not cost half as much as a Honda, dear." This purchase was an EXCELLENT VALUE. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
WE LOVE IT!!!
