Hi Jim! I have the GP550 and 20' 30a (4 outlet) cable. I was told to balance the load and try to split the power per circuit. Since the unit HAS 4 120v outlets on the unit, how do I effectively split the load with the 4-in one twistlock cable. Technically, if I used all 4 - would that be split? Or, would I need to use a couple of the outlets ON the unit itself. I'm a little confused. Thanks in advance!
Answer
The 2 outlets on the left of the cords block are tied to one winding in the alternator, the 2 on the right connect to the other, each flow thru their own breaker (the twist-lock breaker is 2 pole). If you had, as an example, 2 sump pumps, plug each into different sides of the cord-set & it will help balance your loading.
