1 Question
Q: I bought this item from you to replace a 2250 b&s generator that I used to run a small furnace during outages. It won't start it up; did I buy the wrong unit? by Jim Tarpo from Indiana on May 16, 2012
A: The only way to tell if you undersized the generator is to find out the starting amperage load on the furnace and use the following formula to calculate the starting wattage required for the item. Starting Amps x Volts = Watts.
Also, there should be no load on the generator when starting it and all loads would be plugged into the unit after it is running. Please review your owner's manual for proper starting and load connecting.
The Yamaha EF3000iSE does have a surge capacity of 3000 watts with a running capacity of 2800 watts. by Jim, Product Expert

I own This Generator, BUT
Just got the EF3000iSe in Nov 2011, setup was more work then expected. You will need to remove Battery and fill it with supplied acid, then I charged it for about 4 hrs until my charger moved to float stage. Next step to fill oil, remove second panel and access with long neck funnel, this model does NOT supply YamaLube, you will need to have a .6 quart of 10w40 api se on hand.
Another observation is about those swivel looking wheels, they don't swivel so the unit tracks like a railroad car, pick up one end and turn and it is heavy. Last thought is the unit is delivered by freight on a pallet. Still, I like Yamaha quality but needs a little tweaking to match Honda. Just Saying.

Rodeo Dad
I bought this generator to run our horse trailer with living quarters when dry-camping at high school rodeos. That was in 2004. It has been hauled in the back of that trailer for 1000's of miles, ran in the most horrific conditions, and never failed (original battery still in it).
My daughter took it of to college rodeos in 2007 and it got a worse life, less oil changes and little maitenence. Same deal. No problems. Still running great.
Awesome piece of equipment.

All I can say is WOW!
Started first time, runs great and is so quiet I can not believe it. What more is there to even say?
The only negatives are having to handle the battery acid myself (yes I am an adult) and having to take apart the body to install the battery and the oil.
This is what you get when you have it shipped, and no- it is not a big deal at all. The packing and everything else was very professional and safe. Directions are very clear.
Now to tell the truth if that is all the negative I have to say, that's pretty good.
The generator is great!

Yamaha EF3000iSE - 2800 Watt Electric Start Inverter Generator Review
Great generator. Ran it continously for a 5 days after hurricane Wilma on about 20 gallons of gas... lights, fridge, TV.... priceless
This generator is great for camping. Runs our AC, AND microwave, hair dryer, toaster, etc.
It's quiet. Run it in your driveway and you can't hear it in your living room. I can't say enough good things about it.
We've had ours four years now. It stands up to the test of time. Sitting in our garage, riding in the back of our pickup, or running in the beaches and forests all up and down the east coast.
