Jim's Recommendation
The lightweight, fuel-efficient Yamaha EF2000iS inverter generator provides a practical, versatile machine that can go anywhere with ease.
The EF2000iS is a quiet, long-running device with a new retro-modern design and – like all Yamaha generators – the most advanced Yamaha technology and performance. Weighing in at only 44 pounds, this mighty mouse has enough power to run a microwave oven or a television – making your campsite a much more comfortable place to be.
The EF2000iS is a perfect generator for RV owners, whether they have a built-in generator or not.
Onboard generators in motorized RVs are used to run air conditioners about 20% of the time during a campout; the other 80% of the time you need much less power to run the TV, satellite system, lights, other small appliances or to charge the battery.
No need to power up the big onboard generator – you can run your little EF2000iS all night long on less than a gallon of gas.
Using a smaller, portable generator saves gas, pollutes less and eliminates the uncomfortable vibration created by larger generators in the motor home. And you, as well as your neighbors, will appreciate how quiet it is.

Exceeded My Expectations
I bought this Yamaha based on a couple weeks research and concluded that you get what you pay for. In this case it was money well spent.
We used it the first time while dry camping on the Oregon coast with family. This little guy ended up charging batteries on two other RVs, powered an ice cream maker and coffee maker (no there wasn't a Starbucks nearby) and all on a single tank of gas!
Needless to say, it was a huge success and the envy of the entire family.
It starts on the first pull, never stuttered or faltered, and is easy to move around. Controls are easy to use and clearly marked.
It was very quiet, particularly in economy mode, and would automatically adjust to full power if the need arose.
This llttle beauty has earned a permanent place in my RV for emergencies and occasional dry camping needs. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants dependable power for light duty work. More than satisfied
It took a lot of research to decide which generator to purchase and I am more than satisfied with my decision.
The directions were easy to follow, it started on the first pull and runs very quietly.
I would definitely recommend!!!

Yamaha EF2000iS - 1600 Watt Inverter Generator Review
Took it out of the box, read the instructions, gased it up, started first pull.
Used it camping to charge RV, run microwave and coffee maker. Ran great. No problems.

I like it very much
I like the generator very much.
I felt like for the price, Yamaha could have put in a quart of oil in with the unit.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
I bought a cheap China import on a friends' advice. It would run and stop after 5 minutes or less, so I took it back.
The Yam-a-Hammer started on second pull, and did not stop until the gas tank was empty.
It is far superior, and costs 4 times as much, but old saying still holds true. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
It is as quiet as my Yamaha Golf Cart, very portable and reliable, and darn nice to look at.

Nice generators!
I bought a pair of these neat little generators. I unpacked both, oiled and gassed them up.
The first generator started on the first pull. I thought that might be a fluke until the second generator started on the first pull. Impressive- quiet, too.
With both generators running I could carry on a normal conversation with the person next to me. It seemed almost like the generators were harmonizing...
It was a pleasantly spooky experience.
