Q: Hello, how hard would it be to covert this unit to feed from a truck fuel tank? by William Curtin from Ohio on February 25, 2011
A: For specific design questions you will have to contact the manufacturer. Voltmaster can be contacted at (800) 730-3927 - Note: Modifications to original design may void manufacturers warranty. by Jim, Product Expert
Q: does the RL60EL have pressure lubrication and an oil filter? by Frank Acello from Connecticut on January 19, 2011
A: This model does not have pressure lubrication or a spin-on oil filter. The larger models have this due to the engine size and is stated in the owner's manual which is listed in the specs tab for review.

Jim's Recommendation
If your power application is going to involve many hours of operation OR if diesel fuel is your only fuel source option then a diesel powered generator set is best for you.
A diesel powered generator requires a little more attention to operate and maintain versus a gasoline powered generator. But if you are going to need power for several hours at a time, we feel this is the only way to go.
Diesel engines must be operated under 25% of the rated electrical load whenever the engine is running. If the diesel engine is left idling under no load or very small electrical loads (less than 25% of the generator rating) the diesel engine will not burn fuel properly. This will cause a condition known as "wet stacking" which is extreme vibration of the engine damaging the engine and other components.
To prevent "wet stacking" the load cell option is recommended. The load cell keeps an electrical load on the generator preventing this condition. When more than 25% load is put on the generator the load cell automatically shuts off. If the normal operation of the diesel generator always has at least 25% load on the generator, a load cell is not required.
If you decide to go this route, make sure you consider a load cell.
