This is an incredible machine. It can run all the lights in the house and one 3.5 ton central A/C with a Kick Start at the same time. (have an air condition person install it)
Its easy to operate, but heavy. Still one person can move it.
There are several things on the down side that I have noticed about the Robin / Subaru RGV12100, but read on; this is really a positive review. It is rated here on Electric Generators Direct @ 10,000 Watts but once you receive it and read its documentation it is only 9,500 Watts with a surge of 12,000. There is NO 12 volt plug on this generator as stated in the specifications. It is NOT a "Brushless alternator" as stated. There are carbon brushes that need periodic replacement. As the previous reviewer said it is VERY HEAVY. On the up side, this is a very powerful and well engineered generator. I have run it at a constant 9000 watts with no problem. The electric start is flawless and the battery tray is large enough to hold a high capacity automotive battery. The controls, plugs and control panel are very straight forward and intuitive. Running at full load it is impressively quiet; most other generators of this size make quite a racket at full load. This one actually seems quieter under a heavy load. With a hard start kit installed on my central A/C system it can run it and all the other loads from my house except the large wattage loads (Oven, clothes drier, water heater, hot tub, etc.). Overall this is an impressive dependable generator well worth the extra money.

10,000 Watt rated with 12,000 Watt surge to start up motors. This is a big portable that will do loads of hard work for you. It can run most anything in your house other than a central AC or built in electric heat. You can run fans, window AC, freezers and such with ease. It does make some noise, but actually the similar HONDA is lounder and not as well built. It costs more too. This thing is a beast so be careful. It's Heavy.
