Reliance Controls 100-amp Utility/50-amp Gen Indoor Transfer Panel W/ Wattmeters Review
I purchased this transfer switch primarily for three reasons:

1. It had ample room for 12 breakers, or, in my case, two 220A breakers and eight 110A breakers.

2. It has the gauges in it to monitor the feed on both lines in order to ensure there is not an imbalance & subsequent overload when operating on the generator.

3. I searched the Internet for a long time and when I found this transfer switch it was at a very reasonable price!

Neat And Clean
Over all I found the Siemens panel to be a good quality unit. I like the fact that it is all in one cabinet. The down side to this panel is it does not have a Neutral lug for the 50 amp Generator source. The neutral bar does not accept a #6 conductor which means you have to adapt something which degrades the UL listing. The second thing is in designing the layout of the interior of the cabinet the door/cover assembly is upside down. The hooks for an easy mounting of the cover are reversed which... more

No More Melted Ice Cream
We live in Harford County, Maryland in a zone noted for bad storms and power outages. Last year we got a Reliance TRC1005C 100A manual transfer panel after a storm to start our process for an emergency generator.

When the last storm came through in June 2010 our decision was made as we could wait no longer. After reading many reviews we settled on the HW7500E.
