I would have cut the hole for my flush mount box smaller than the directions gave, this is unnecessary if you are putting in an existing wall, I had to add an additional piece of wood to offset the size of the hole to allow the box to be tightened in the hole with the required flange, however it did work and looks like a nice finished job now but from an electrician's point of view could have been better explained as to why make the hole the size suggested. I can only think it's because you also have to pull the feeder wire out of the hole to make up the connections and a larger hole did make that easier but still could be done with a smaller opening. all in all I'm happy with the outcome and so is the homeowner, so all is good.
