Ordered the GP5500 after losing 2 freezers worth of food and living without electric for 5 days thanks to Hurricane Irene. The unit arrived in 2 days. After 15 minutes putting the handles, foot and wheel kit on, added oil, a bit of gas and it fired up on the second pull.
Unit ran smooth and was relatively quiet - not as loud as I imagined. The transfer switch kit was a bit more work considering the electrician that wired the house when it was built should never have been allowed near a wire never mind a circuit panel.
Anyway I wired it in which took about 2 hours most of which was cleaning up the messy work the electrician did. Now we wait for the next storm and power outage which is bound to happen living in NY state where the power company never trims trees.
Service and quality was so good I'm going to try the Snow Blower Direct web site since winter will be here in a few months and my old sears machine is beyond repair. You guys have one happy customer!
