This is a great generator and a workhorse at that!
But, if you buy one of these be prepared to have a jump start battery on hand. These things have been in storage long enough that their storage batteries are basically dead. Mine had a reading of 4.2 volts, definitely not enough to turn over the starter, let alone the 22 HP Subaru engine.
Imagine my disappointment when I uncrated the generator, put on the wheel kit, put the oil in, mixed up some sta-bil fuel, hooked up the battery, and when I turned the key.....Nothing!!! I jumped the battery with battery cables and it came right to life. You would think they would send out another battery but noooo! I was directed to 3 service sites in my area. And this thing hadn't even been out of the box an hour yet. |

| Why the Closeout? |

There’s a reason why we’re closing out all of the Coleman Powermate generators.
You need to be aware of it. And, we believe that it’s our obligation to inform you.
Powermate Corporation, the manufacturer of Coleman Powermate generators, recently filed bankruptcy.
How does this affect you?
First, the bankruptcy had nothing to do with the quality of their generators. Coleman Powermate always produced quality products in their Kearney, Nebraska manufacturing plant.
Second, the only change is the warranty. The product comes with a warranty, but frankly, no one is willing to honor it.
Service centers will still repair the generators as long as they get paid. In the past, Coleman Powermate would cover any service if the generator malfunctioned while under warranty. It would be your responsibility to pay for any repairs after the warranty expired.
If you buy a closeout Coleman Powermate generator from us and have a problem in the first 30 days, we’ll exchange it at no cost to you. After 30 days, you’ll simply be responsible for any repairs.
Basically, instead of paying for an extended warranty, you’re actually getting a discount for a shortened warranty.
It’s not for everyone, but it’s a great opportunity to get a quality generator at a very affordable price.
