Great Generator
When I first tried to start the generator I had the same issue stated above. Hard to start, run for a minute or so and sputter and die. It was on a Sunday and support was closed. I thought it had to be fuel, spark, or air. I started with fuel and saw that the fuel line from tank shutoff to carb was crimped. I removed it from the shutoff and cut about 3/4 inch off of the fuel line and put it back. Fired right up and has run flawlessly since. Highly recommend it, also recommend trying it before it is needed. I would have hated to trouble shoot it in the middle of a snow storm in the middle of the night.

EXCELLENT QUALITY GENERATOR AND ENGINE
I bought the transfer switch and cord from the electricgeneratorsdirect.com to hook the generator up to the house electrical panel. I HIGHLY recommend this generator, transfer switch, and twistlock cord. It is well constructed and the Honda Engine is quiet compared to the Briggs & Stratton Engines that are on some of the generators. I ran this unit through Hurricane Irene and a recent ice storm on the East Coast that wiped out power for days. I got about 9 hours on the tank before full refueling with even power on a full load.
I had it hooked up to a Reliance Transfer Switch (which must be installed by a licensed electrician) and it ran the heating system, two refrigerators, two TV's, full kitchen appliances, washer, dryer and most of the lights and outlets and I had enought power to run an extension cord into my neighbors house to run a refrigerator and space heater during the outage. The unit is so simple to start with the electronic battery start which is a key feature in rain or cold temperatures. It makes it real easy to start.
Don't waste your time running a bunch of extension cords into the house. Invest the few hundred dollars and buy the transfer switch and the twistlock cord. It is so much easier and much safer running one twistlock cord to the transfer switch and on flipping breakers on than running a bunch of extension cords.

Amazing
Just put this generator through hell when dealing with hurricane Irene. Started up instantly right out of the box, ran it for 16.0 hours straight with a refueling at 10.1 hrs. Moderated noise, low vibration. Highly recommend the constant r.p.m with "NO" idle down feature. A must for me with two refrigerators. Buying a second one tomorrow for a neighbor.

This Is Great
I live off the grid and have to use it daily when we get home. The only time we have any trouble is when it is time to clean and to change spark plug. Overall it is great. compared to the Generacs we've had, they are junk have had 4 in the past 13 years and this has been the best.
It's great the kids can start it and they are 6, 5, and 4 when we are out putting the gas in or oil we let them start it and they think it is great.

Having trouble keeping it started
Having trouble keeping it running. Was very difficult starting the first time. It runs for about three to five minutes, sputters and shuts down.
The gas is relatively new. Have not had the time to tinker with it to find out what's wrong.
EGD RESPONDS: You may want to give the folks at Honeywell Tech Support a call, toll free, at (888) 494-3571 to see if they have any tips on getting your unit to run properly.
If they can't troubleshoot the problem with you over the phone they can refer you to a Warranty Service facility in your area.

This Honeywell generator is one reliable machine.
We lost our power Feb. 5, 2010 to Feb. 9, 2010; this generator ran every day with no problem, powering my home.
