We recommended Coleman Powermate camping generators for years.
Now, those little Mega Pulse generators are equivalent to dial-up Internet service.
New Inverter technology is making the traditional camping generator obsolete. They are smaller, quieter and produce cleaner electricity. Until now, they've been expensive too.
Honeywell is now capable of producing Inverter generators at a very affordable cost. Consider this little 900 watt version as the "broadband" of new camping generators. |

| PUTTING IT TO THE TEST |
| By ROBERT D. (Duluth, GA) |
I WAS HESITANT TO PURCHASE AFTER READING THE HARD STARTING REVIEWS.
I CALLED THE TECH SUPPORT AND WAS TOLD THE CURRENT MODEL HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO A GRAVITY FED TANK INSTEAD OF A PRIMER BULB.
BASED ON THIS INFO AND MOSTLY GOOD REVIEWS, I ORDERED AND RECEIVED IT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. GOOD RESPONSE.
I OPENED THE BOX AND READ THE MANUAL. VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW SWITCH SETTINGS. I CAREFULLY FILLED THE OIL AND CHECKED THE LEVEL TO MANUAL. A CUP OF JUST PURCHASED REGULAR GAS WAS POURED IN.
TWO PULLS WITH THE CHOKE ON AND IT STARTED. I LET IT RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL. ANOTHER CUP OF GAS AND 4 PULLS ON AN EMPTY CARB WITH NO CHOKE AND IT STARTED.
TURNED THE GAS OFF, AND LET IT STALL AGAIN. THIS TIME, I USED THE CHOKE AND 1 PULL TO START.
I PLUGGED IN AN EXTENSION WITH A DRILL AND A CIRCULAR SAW AT THE SAME TIME WITH TOTAL WATTS DRAW JUST UNDER 800. WITH BOTH RUNNING, BUT USING 1 AT A TIME, I COULD DRILL OR SAW WITH NO DETECTABLE INCREASE IN GENERATOR NOISE.
ALMOST AS QUIET AS THE EXPENSIVE UNIT. I LET IT RUN DRY UNTIL NEXT USE.
WE ARE NOW LOOKING INTO A LCD TV/DVD AND MICROWAVE FOR CRUISES ON THE SAILBOAT. |

| Quiet and powerful |
| By jerry escobar (Fall River Mills, CA) |
I already owned a large generator and needed just a small output unit that was quiet.
After receiving my Honeywell 1000i I'm very pleased with it. Its quiet operation is just what I'd been looking for and it puts out more power than I expected from such a small unit. |

| Starter cord won't retract |
| By Patrick Traster (Punta Gorda, FL) |
I just got the generator. I only started it three times. Total run time about 10 minutes.
On the fourth start try, the starter chord stayed out and did not retract. I will now have to drive several miles to a Honeywell service center and not have it for my camping trip.
Too bad because it is light and fairly quiet. |

| GREAT LITTLE GENERATOR!!!: Update |
| By Marquita Johnson (Clinton, MS) |
This generator is still going strong!!!
I forgot to mention that we also use it for everyday stuff, including connecting to fans to just sit outside with the kids in the backyard, and it doesn't disturb our very quiet in our subdivision.
You CAN NOT go wrong with this buy.
Thanks again, Electric Generators Direct.com, for the excellent price !! |

| Great Little Generator!!! |
| By Marquita Johnson (Clinton, MS) |
I have thoroughly researched portable and quiet generators for taking to my sons' baseball games for weeks..I almost bought the Yamaha 900 but saw this one for a lot cheaper.
I decided if it was not satisfactory, I would just send it back...We are very PLEASED!!
We have taken it to a few games and have had so many people comment on how quiet it is. It was as quiet as the Honda E2000 that our friends were using.
One thing to note is that when you first start it, it sounds a little louder than the Honda, but I think that is because it assumes it is at full load. Once you have put it on efficiency mode, it tones ALL the way down.
Also, it started on the first pull.
Good job Honeywell.... |
