I was forced to buy this because it was the last generator in the store. It was the most expensive so everyone was a little scared to step up and buy it. After the sticker shock and using it for three days I would say it was the best thing that happened to me after the storm.
It runs great, is much quieter than my neighbors that ran wide open all the time. With two big screen TV's, the stereo's and satellite dishes, all the lights on, ceiling fans running, two refrigerators, two desk top computers, operating garage door openers and a microwave cycling on and off we lived a normal life on this generator. At night when everything was off I ran the hot water heater and had hot showers in the morning. I could not wash clothes or use the stove but I could wait a few days and do with out those two.
It is too small to operate our 4.5 ton heat pump but it was nice weather and we did not need it back in April yet. After comparing notes on generators with others one guy had his TV and computer fried with bad power off the generator. After hearing that it made me glad I did not ruin my TV's and computers since they were way more in cost than the generator. Overall it is great and now I don't dread loosing power like I used to.
