We really like this new QuietSource 48 kW generator a lot.
Yes, it produces 3 more kilowatts than an ordinary 45 kilowatt generator. But, that's not the reason.
We really like it for two reasons. First, it features a premium-grade engine that runs at 1800 instead of 3600 rotations per minute. Since it runs at half the speed, it's quieter, consumes less fuel and lasts longer.
Secondly, it includes an aluminum instead of steel enclosure. Aluminum simply doesn't rust. It's great for areas along the coast where saltwater quickly eats away steel.
Yes, it costs more than an ordinary 45 kilowatt generator. If you live near the ocean and need a powerful, yet quiet generator, this QuietSource model is definitely worth the money. |
