I researched and bought one of these for my parent's home, from Electric Generators Direct, for several reasons. They had a great price, their site was loaded with information, and I even called and asked questions before I ordered.
The generator arrived quickly and I installed it myself. When I unboxed it I was surprised at how well it was built and all the things that came with it.
The instructions were very good and I had it done quicker than I expected. Best of all the testing went flawlessly and it works great! The only downside at all was it was just a little noisier that I expected, but not unacceptable.
It's a rare, absolutely great product from a great supplier! I recommend them both very highly - and no, I am not connected with either one of them.

Peace of mind in a flood prone area
I am very satisfied with my purchase. The install was simple- it took about 4 hours for the electrican, and about the same for the propane hookup.
Everything works fine and it's good peace of mind knowing I have backup power while living in a flood prone area. My pumps will always have power and shouldn't flood my basement.
I also have backup power for my furnace and lights, freezers, and fridge in a power outage.

Switching from gasoline to natural gas
We had a gasoline generator that we used when the power failed. It was hard to start; and since we live out in the country the nearest gas station is 8 miles away- the hassle was more than it was worth.
If we used the generator 24 hours a day then we would go thru 10 gallons of gas a day. That meant going outside to shut it down, fill it back up, and restart it every couple hours.
Our electric has been off for a week at a time during the winter, at $30 a day for gasoline it doesn't take long to go thru a lot of money quick.
Now that we have installed the Generac generator the only thing that we have to do is "nothing".
The electric goes off and the generator comes on, it is just that simple. It took 2 of us about 4 hours to install and wire the entire unit, the directions were very easy to follow and understand.
I have recommended the generator to everyone. A few people have already come to my house and wanted to see just how it worked, and then purchased one a couple days later.
