| This system works great |
| By Mike Smith (Rensselar, IN) |
I bought the Generac, and during routine maintenance the mechanic found the main seal was going bad. Since it was during the first year it was fixed under warranty.
We live in town and have had several outages and the system works great..even when the seal was going out.
I would buy it again...I love the automatic switch |

Great machine. Just had a 3 day power outage and the Guardian worked really well.
If (like me) you are not using the Auto Transfer switch (using a manual switch), you'll have to run a 240V cable to the unit in order to recharge the battery and it will also enable the use of the auto start feature.

| Great price! Easy to install but word of warning, DO be certain your gas meter will give you enough volume. Usually only a small fee to have it upgraded and well worth it. Super quiet and trouble free. Consider buying the whole house switch also discounted here to replace the included 16 circuit box. We have 21 circuits and this has plenty of power for them all. Cut a deal with your electrician to take the box and knock some $$ off the fee. He won't havee any problem reusing it. |

| Guardian 16 kW Emergency Power System w/ Steel Enclosure Review |
| By John S. |
I got a Guardian 16 KW generator from you in October. I've tested it several times, but last week it got it's first true workout.
I am on the edge of the St. Louis area, that had ice storms last week. Our utility power was fortunately out only about 2 hours, but I had power.
One neighbor even (in good humor) accused me of rubbing it in because not only
were my lights and furnace on, but my Christmas decorations were blazing
away (snicker snicker).
I guess the neighbors that thought I was crazy (well probably true but...)
aren't laughing quite as much now.
BTW, from the time that I ordered the generator on-line to the time it was
being offloaded from the truck was 6 days (ordered it Thursday afternoon,
had it Wed afternoon). |

| Guardian 16 kW Emergency Power System w/ Steel Enclosure Review |
| By Todd Nadler |
A huge ice storm hit our area in this winter (11/30/06) and our power has been out for over four days. The Gaurdian 16 kW has worked just as described – heat, lights, frig, freezer, satellite TV and the web. No refueling or extension cords to mess with. My wife, children and mother in-law all think I am a genius for making the purchase.
One minor issue with oil blow by out the exhaust venting system, but dealer assures me this is normal with the break in period of the new. I will have the unit serviced (under warranty I hope) after the weather breaks.

If you're looking at a "Guardian Plus" version, you're reading yesterday's news. The new models are now branded as "Guardian QuietSource" instead of "Guardian Plus".
So what's so great about the new model?
First, the new model comes with 16 (not 15) kilowatts of power.
Second, with the extra juice, comes extra circuits. The newer version comes with a 16-circuit transfer switch to help your restore power to even more rooms.
Third, they implemented a new painting system. The new paint resists harsh weather much better, helping the product look better and last longer.
According to Generac, the new 16 kW Guardian QuietSource can power a 5-ton central air conditioner. They even tested it on some older, less energy efficient models, and it worked like a charm. :) |
