Transfer Switch Model 6378

I really like this switch. It has one touch conversion between regular street current and the generator outlet in our garage. By use of adapted powder breakers, our electrician was able to give us 14 circuits from which to choose during an outage, with two of them 220's. It takes up very little space on our basement wall and also has the load monitors so that as we bring circuits on-line during generator start up, we can easily avoid snapping the tripping on the generator.

Versatile And Good Performance

I purchased this to use with my 7550KW portable generator. Install was very easy for this do it yourselfer- I am a police officer not an electrician- and it was easy to install. Don’t be intimated by the number of wires and appearance.

All wires were long enough and I had two panel boxes to connect to. I pulled one 220 breaker and put in 2 single pole to best meet my house needs. Once running on generator I was able to use the meters to balance the load on both sides.
