There are better options out there to keep the oil warm in the winter, and they will not have the adhesive problems that this product has. The battery warmer is easy to install as it just rests under the weight of the battery. The smaller part that is supposed to stick to the bottom of the engine has issues with the adhesive.
After following all of the directions from the manual, I was only able to get half of this thing to stick. The half that was connected to the wires kept drooping from the weight of the wires. Don't bother with customer service from Generac as they will just tell you to call a professional installer who will charge you to come out and apply some top secret glue. I say "top secret" because no one from Generac or even the installer will tell you what to use. I ended up just buying some RTV silicone adhesive that resists high temperature, and wedging a block of wood under the engine to hold the part in place while the RTV cured. When this thing finally wears out I'm going to look for a replacement in the automotive/garden tractor sector.
