| Electric Generators Direct Recommendation |
| By Electric Generators Direct |
An extremely popular generator in Florida. Most homes in Hurricane country are powered entirely by electricity -- no natural gas or propane fuel source.
Standby generators simply don't work in these situations because they need natural gas or propane to generate electricity.
Many homeowners would like a standby generator, but they don't want to install an unsightly propane tank in their back yard. Their only option is a portable gasoline-powered generator with a big gas tank.
The Guardian Ultra Source 17,500 watt generator is the preferred choice because it's the largest portable generator available, generating enough juice to run a 5-ton air conditioner and a bunch more appliances. |

| Great to work with |
| By RAY MCKINSEY (Hellam, PA) |
So far, so good. I've just had my generator for a few weeks, and one thing is the Start/Stop switch is like a rocker switch. If you're not careful you can engage the starter while the unit is running.
But other than that, all is good. Electric Generators Direct is great to work with, and I would use them again. |

| Awesome generator |
| By brad enroughty (Richmond, VA) |
My Dad is 91 years old. He bought one of these generators and had the Power Company wire for it. I keep up the maintenance on it.
It's an awesome generator, and works great.
If you plan for the probability of being out of power for an extended period, you need to plan for fuel. This unit has a 16 gallon fuel tank.
My only complaint is that this generator does not have an alternator to charge its own starting battery. I found this out when the battery went dead.
A plug-in trickle charger has solved this problem. The Generac call center response was excellent. |
