It Has Come On a Couple of Times, Only For About a Half-Hour Each Time, But Everything Worked Out Great. It Starts Once a Week For 30 Minutes and Runs It's Self-Test.
I Am Very Pleased With the Briggs and Stratton Product So Far. I Just Built a New House and Knew Before I Built That I Was Going to Put a Standby Generator in With the New House.
I Almost Went With the Generac But When I Was At the Local Place For My Meeting to Set This Up the Guy Who Was Supposed to Meet With Me Was Late Because They Were So Busy With Calls Fixing Generators.
They Had a Board in Their Office With All the Repairs Going On At That Time and I Started to Wonder While I Was Waiting On the Guy If a Generac Was the Right Choice. I Am Not Bad Mouthing Generac, But This Was the Off Season and Their Repair Calls Had Them Backed Up Already.
I Thought What Would Happen in a Hurricane and I Needed Them to Come Out in a Hurry. I Live in Louisiana and You Have to Be Prepared For the Worst and Hope For the Best. Then Someone Suggested a Briggs and Stratton.
I Didn'T Know That They Made Standby Generators, But Their Reputation On Their Other Products, Having Owned a Few of Their Lawn Mowers Over the Years, Intrigued Me.
Since Their Reputation Was Good and Their Warranty Was Better Than the Generac, I Decided to Go With Them. I'M Glad That I Did.
My 18kw Runs My Whole House (Except the Clothes Washer and Drier, All At Once). I Have 2 Ac Units and 2275 Square Feet of Living Area. I Was Very Impressed.
Not That I Am Going to Run All of This At Once, But When the Installer Was Testing It Out, I Decided That I Was Going to See What It Could Do. Like I Said Earlier, I Am Not Bad Mouthing Any Other Brand, But I Feel That I Made the Right Choice With the Briggs and Stratton.
