| Electric Generators Direct Recommendation |
| By Electric Generators Direct |
The Briggs & Stratton 6200 watt generator is our best seller for multiple reasons.
It's powerful. It's durable. It's affordable.
Best of all, you can start it with a touch of a button.
It's hard to come by a mid-sized generator with electric start. Electric start is usually reserved for extra large generators between 7,500 and 15,000 watts.
This model generates 6,200 watts. Plenty of juice to power all of your survival appliances and a bunch more.
We recommend this model for just about anyone. It's also been very popular with elderly folks, who greatly appreciate the ease of electric start. |

| No Complaints |
| By David Fyfe (Whitehouse, TX) |
I ordered this generator on Oct 21, 2009. It was shipped on Oct 22nd and arrived at the house in Tyler TX on Oct 27th.
I simply backed my pick-up truck up to the back of the delivering tractor trailer and slid the box over- it could not have been easier. There was one small rip in the box containing the generator, but the generator itself was undamaged.
I installed the wheels, added the included oil, attached the negative battery cable, added gas, and pressed the start button. The generator started instantly.
I'll buy from Electric Generators Direct.com again. |

| Kudos to Electric Generators Direct.com |
| By brandon wallace (Lafayette, LA) |
Haven't had to use the generator yet, but I wanted to write a review to give kudos to Electric Generators Direct.
I placed my order on a Thursday afternoon and received a shipping notification within two hours, without paying for priority shipping.
By Monday morning, my generator was sitting at the local freight depot with instructions passed along from the website that I would be picking it up instead of taking delivery.
There was great turnaround on the order. Based on my experience, this site is a model of what web commerce should be. I've already recommended the site to two friends who are in the market for generators, too.
As for the generator itself- assembly was easy and it started immediately. The oil fill location is somewhat inconvenient to get a bottle or funnel to, but not a deal breaker.
I ran the product for a few minutes and it sounded quieter than a smaller, cheaper Briggs & Stratton generator that I had a few years ago. It wasn't Honda quiet, but still half of a Honda price. |

| Worked Great |
| By Troy Defew (Benton, KY) |
I purchased this generator back in the Summer. I live in Western KY and we just suffered a catastrophic ice storm that rendered our entire area a major disaster- we lost power for 13 days.
Thanks to this generator we ran the fridge / freezer, lights, 2 deep freezers, 2 televisions, and microwave. I also swapped from one of the deep freezers to our washing machine and ran it, too.
While running all of the above, the generator was only using 20% of it's capability. We ran it for approximately 12 - 14 hours a day and it ran perfectly. One tank of gas lasted all day.
I hope this helps. We shut it off at night while we were sleeping, but it probably would have done fine if we had left it on. Keep the oil fresh and it should last. It did for us. |

| The little engine that could |
| By J C (Lexington, KY) |
Simply put,you cannot go wrong when purchasing this generator. I purchased it last year and have used it in 3 power outages from 4-10 hours each, for a total of about 20 hours.
It has excellent gas mileage, and a transfer switch with loads balanced correctly. It ran a space heater, refrigerator, tv, lights, a computer- and still had gas left from first fill up.
Also, the unit was not as loud as I expected. I did install a heat resistant rubber hose on the wheel axle under the pull start. Letting the unit rest on the rubber hose made a big difference in the noise and vibrations.
My wife really loves being able to get ready and go to work with no hassle if there is a power outage (which makes a generator priceless, if you know what i mean-lol).
Together with the transfer switch I installed an Hourtach meter for maintenance.
I could not be happier with this unit! |

| The best generator I have owned |
| By B N (Snohomish, WA) |
I have had my unit for 2 years now. It was delivered on time and was simple to setup.
Last year I rarely used it because the power stayed on. In the last month, I have used it 4 times for outages of 4 to 14 hours.
Not only did it start each time with a touch of the button, it did this at 0 degrees F!
It ran portable heaters, lights, refrigerator and the TV / Stereo system. I think it could have handled more, but this is all I needed to run.
I would recommend the fuel stabilizer if it sits for months like mine does.
Prior to purchasing this unit, I had one I salvaged out of a motorhome which was cranky, reved up and down all night and when it got cold, just would not start. Another one was just too small, wouldn't run what I needed and ran out of gas all the time.
This one is just right. Thanks! |

| Emergency Generators Come In Handy |
| By Robert Pepper (Anderson, SC) |
I've had mine over a year now. I used to have a smaller pull start, so I love this electric start- it starts right up every time.
This is the perfect unit to have for home emergency power. I have been using generators for over 12 years, at times I run this one for 24+ hours straight and up to 4.5 days, only stopping to check the oil and fill up the gas.
If I hear someone is looking for a generator, I point them to this one right away. You will never be sorry if you get this!
Out of the unitss I have had before, this is the best by far (PS, the others were also brand name units!)
One last note: I lived in NH, moved here 6 years ago, and still find this unit very handy to have ready to go, just in case it's needed.
We do get ice now and then, trees do come down and power goes out. I ran this generator overnight for 14 hours, and still had gas in the tank- rather cheap to run I'd say... |

| Why Real-Time Inventory Matters |
| By Jon Hoch, Founder (Bolingbrook, IL) |
During a disaster, portable generators sell faster than playoff tickets.
Unlike other web sites, we actually stock our best-selling portable generators. You'll know if your generator is in-stock before you even order.
Plus, we display our inventory in real time. If it's in-stock, it'll say so. If it's backordered, you'll know before ordering.
Most of our competitors literally leave you in the dark. Unless it says "in-stock" on their site, you should assume that it's not. |

| Briggs & Stratton 30242 - 6200 Watt Electric Start Generator Review |
| By Robert Brown (Monroe, LA) |
I purchased this generator for my father-in-law after Gustav hit Louisiana. I chose this model because of the electric start feature (my in laws are in their early 80's).
The generator arrived and all that was needed was to fill it up with oil and gas and hit the starter. It runs very smoothly and I am extremely satisfied with the product.
An added feature is the trickle charger that comes with the unit, so you do not have to worry about the battery being dead when you need it. |

| Gustav generator |
| By Martha Collinsworth (Baton Rouge, LA) |
I ordered this generator because my post-Katrina generator did not start, all the stores were sold out and Gustav was on his way.
I chose the fast shipping option and was delighted to see the box arrive.
I have been very pleased with the generator operation. Since we had no electricity, I could not charge the
battery starter - so we used the pull start and it was very easy to use.
The gas usage has been reasonable - we filled it twice a day while running a small ac, a fan, laptop,
small light and occassionally, a full size refrigerator.
I was very happy to see that it ships with oil and an extra large plug - both are items very hard to find
during an emergency.
The value for the money is excellent. |

| Excellent buy |
| By Top Ingram (Jacksonville, FL) |
I purchased Model 30242, received it within 4 days, and was kept informed about the location of the unit on its way to Jacksonville, FL. The shipper's driver was very courteous and friendly in his delivery of the product.
I followed the directions for setting up the machine, and it started on the first push of the electric starter button. I then tried the pull cord and it started on one pull.
I am very happy with this machine and highly recommend it to anyone with a need for this wattage generator. Now, I will not worry when the power goes out.

| Briggs & Stratton 30242 - 6200 Watt Electric Start Generator Review |
| By James LeClare |
I have had (2) electric start Generators from generators direct. They have been so good that both of them have been stolen. So far the law enforcement officials have found nothing.
When I figure A way to fasten one down I will order A nother one. |

| Briggs & Stratton 30242 - 6200 Watt Electric Start Generator Review |
| By Jim Morgart |
| Purchased this generator with 'standard' delivery. It came two days later. Started right up and runs quietly. It even comes with the 30 Amp 4-prong plug, so that saves you $20 right away. Very sturdy construction and I love the Briggs & Stratton 11 HP overhead valve engine. A great standby generator, inmy opinion. |

Just wanted to let you know, the 6200W generator I ordered was delivered yesterday afternoon.
Filled it with oil, put in some gas, hit the starter button and it cranked right up. (I'm going to
love that feature)
Thanks for the prompt delivery, if I need anything else, I'll be sure to order it from you. |
